Chapter 7: Gatsby's love is shown

Gatsby fires all of his servants because Daisy does not have fun at Gatsby's party.  Gatsby finds out that Daisy loved Tom while she was missing Gatsby. Gatsby is so upset with Daisy. This event really shocked me, what was Gatsby thinking when he left Daisy for that long of time. Daisy was bound to fall in love with someone so I think it was rather expected. However i am rather surprised now that Gatsby is so upset about this. If i was Gatsby i would have approached Tom first before confronting Daisy so that tom would understand. Tom Obviously does not love daisy so i think he would let her go if Gatsby paid him off. a question i'd like to pose is Why is Gatsby so in love with Daisy?
